Platinum Gymnast scores a perfect 10!
Lakin “ Macy” Cowan, 6, wowed the crowd, including her mom, at the
last district qualifier competition when the scoreboard went up with her name
on it and the score: 10.0!! The perfect score was achieved on her fourth
event of the day- vault. The meet was
held in

had a rigorous training schedule this past summer, (15 hours a week) training and testing physical abilities such
as rope climb, handstand holding, and sprinting for TOPs( talent opportunity
program), as well as getting ready for her competition season which began this
September. Macy has had an incredible
season so far; She has consistently won balance beam,
floor and All- Around at her first several meets. She
has an amazing attitude in the gym and at competition-- very mature for her
age. Macy actually won the “Shirley Temple” Award
this summer at the PGA Awards Banquet for her encouraging, inspiring attitude
toward her teammates in the gym and in competition.
